With its 17 boards (including Best Pins of 2013 and Education Infographics) and hundreds of pins, ASCD has built a huge professional presence on Pinterest.
And it presents a solid curation model for other professional organizations.
ASCD’s new Pin to Win 2014 Education Resolutions with ASCD ups and crowd-sources those curation efforts.
Educators are invited to share at least one way they hope to improve their practice in the new year.

The contest runs now through January 17, 2014. This is a great opportunity for educators to reflect on the school year, boost their professional development, and possibly win a pass to the largest education conference worldwide.
I asked ASCD’s Social Media Specialist for a little more insight. She shared the aggregated Pinterest board of resolutions to which she’ll be adding throughout the contest. This aggregation suggests the type of collaboration that might happen more locally. Could you help the teachers in your school, for instance, share their own favorite inspirational words, their best instructional ideas?
TL Pinners: The contest is a win/win. You’re pinning anyway. How about also pinning your inspirations/aspirations to an ASCD board–sharing a little more broadly, and using the ASCD brand to easily build your own professional network and visibility?
Update: ASCD just announced it has joined Instagram under the username @officialascd. The goal is to show educators worldwide a behind-the-scenes look at ASCD, while providing free motivation and professional development through pictures and videos.
